Zemlinsky’s opera The Dwarf is inspired by a fairy tale by Oscar Wilde, on our conception of beauty and identity. The Cafe-Philo will be followed by a public staged rehearsal with orchestra of the opera The Dwarf.

Former student of the École normale supérieure, Bernard Seve was for many years a second-year professor in Lyon and Paris. Today he is professor of aesthetics and philosophy of art at the UFR of philosophy at University Lille-3 Charles-De-Gaulle. In addition to various articles on the theory of argumentation, on Hans Jonas, on aesthetics and the history of philosophy, he has published The Philosophic question on the existence of God (PUF, 2000 for the 3rd edition); Musical alteration or What music teaches the philosopher (Seuil, collection "Poétique", 2002); Montaigne.
