A formation with variable geometry, the Ensemble Amarillis is highly appreciated for the quality of its work over the past 20 years in the field of baroque music. Two “Concerts" by Rameau precede an evocation of Orpheus, with cantatas by the Dijonnais composer and the illustrious Clerambault. The music of Clerambault and Rameau, like the paintings of a Fragonard or a Boucher, plunges us into a sensuality redolent of the 18th century, flowering and refined, whose bold and effervescent harmonies touch the deepest recesses of the soul, calling to mind Rameau’s famous dictum: “true music is the language of the heart.”
