As an echo to the performances of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in the Great Hall, the Balcony proposes an intriguing way to discover the Madrigals of the “father” of opera. With a lyric voice, a quartet of bassoons and electric guitar, the musicians of this effervescent ensemble take the songs of Venice as of the 16th century (mixing those of Monteverdi with those of Gesualdo) and reveal their amazing modernity.
