FRENCH BAROQUE MUSIC
Member of the Arts Florissants family, enthusiastic guest of the Concert Spirituel, a favourite of conductors, the Flemish high-counter tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen continues to explore the beauties, the rarities and the passions of the baroque repertoire. Here he dives into the French cantatas of the early 18th century, profane works designed as miniature operas. With his ensemble A Nocte Temporis, he has chosen to lift from the shadows the unjustly neglected composer, Louis-Nicolas Clerambault, who was one of the principal authors of the Enlightenment.
