She was a brilliant Lulu at the Salzburg Festival. She won the adoration of the Parisian public at the Opera Bastille as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni). She moved hearts as Gilda in Rigoletto in Munich. And under her touch, Susanna has rarely had such fervour, humour and malice confronting Figaro (Aix-en-Provence). Is there any need to introduce Patricia Petibon?
For years, this artist has captivated the French public. Nothing frightens her: in turns impetuous and suave, grave and grandiose in the dramatic roles or lively and charming in opera buffa, invariably witty, irresistibly sensual, Patricia Petibon brings her myriad talents as actress and singer to the opera stage and in recital.
Her visit in 2005 left the Lille public mesmerized by her charms. She returns this time with a new programme that promises to be full of further enchantments. The singer proposes a musical voyage through the repertoire of melodie, in which her soprano voice blooms so graciously. From Francis Poulenc to Enrique Granados, the pearls of the French and Hispanic repertoire joyously succeed one another in what we anticipate will be a highly seductive recital.
