Directed by Yves Parmentier, the Lille Opera Choir celebrates its 10th anniversary this season. For the occasion, the members of the choir propose a Greatest Hits from a number of productions from recent years.
Over the past 10 years, other voices from lands near and far have also been invited onto the stage of the Opera, thanks to the faithful collaboration of Attacafa, which works to promote music from around the world.
For this anniversary week-end, the invited guest is Rhoum El Bakkali, from the Jbala region in northwestern Morocco, tributary of a musical tradition passed down by the women: the Hadra. This art of incantation, praise and prayer, whose poetic force and melodic beauty is celebrated throughout the world, lures the audience into a form of trance.
