What makes for the success of a quartet? The vigour, the engagement, the technical assurance, but also – in the case of the Artemis Quartet – a certain taste for risk. Founded in 1989 in Lübeck under the aegis of the world famous Alban Berg and LaSalle Quartets, the Artemis offers a programme of Schubert, Shostakovich and Brahms.
