A creative collaboration between the composer Jérôme Combier, video artist Pierre Nouvel and the ensemble Ictus, Austerlitz follows a man’s meanderings through the vast mix of curiosities under the wide heavens that was Europe in the 20th century. Unorthodox edifices, majestic railway stations, troubling fortresses – the moving decor of this road opera is made up of architecture that bears the stamp of life-crushing bureaucracy.
