“The children are gone”: in this simple phrase lies an entire universe of anxieties, doubts and speculations. From sources as diverse as traditional children’s tales to Tarkovsky’s Stalker, the young dramaturge Gerhild Steinbuch and the composer Wolfgang Mitterer have together created this haunted modern opera.
